Chicago was recently named the most walkable city in America for tourists, and it isn’t hard to see why.

Affectionately named the Windy City, Chicago offers tourists several famous landmarks including ‘The Bean’, the iconic ‘Cloud Gate’ and the ‘Magnificent Mile’.

Most US cities are notoriously inaccessible by foot. Chicago, however, stands out as a foot-friendly haven. You can visit all of the above landmarks in just 28 marvellous minutes!

It is little surprise that RIU Hotels has picked Chicago as the home of its newest hotel – the Hotel Riu Plaza Chicago, opening in summer 2024.

It is located in the hugely popular commercial and cultural area of Streeterville – just minutes away from the Magnificent Mile.

Where guests of the Hotel Riu Plaza Chicago will dine.

The 28-storey Hotel Riu Plaza Chicago is easily accessible from the Chicago O’Hare airport and is just over a kilometre away from stunning Lake Michigan.

With a contemporary design and Chicago’s typical architectural style, the Hotel Riu Plaza Chicago has 28 floors and 390 rooms equipped with all the amenities and facilities you need for a carefree getaway. All of the rooms have air conditioning, a small fridge, bathroom amenities, satellite TV, a safe and much more. In addition, there is a 24-hour fully-equipped gym. The hotel’s facility fee includes a full breakfast buffet, WiFi, water on arrival, coffee in the room, use of the gym and luggage storage (on arrival and departure day).

Start your day by recharging your batteries at the delicious American-style breakfast buffet, multiple vegetarian options and fresh produce. The typical Grab&Go service offers a wide selection of snacks, coffees and drinks that are perfect to take away so you can carry on enjoying the sights of Chicago.

If you’re travelling to Chicago, it really does offer the best.

Full hotel features includes WiFi, water on arrival, coffee in the room, use of the gym, luggage storage (on arrival and departure day) and access to “The rooftop”, our rooftop bar located on the 27th floor.
