Things are looking up for domestic operators, as Queensland reopens for Sydney- and Victoria-based travellers.

Especially if you managed to flog a $80,000 a week property over the Christmas period, like this operator managed to do in Noosa.

Sue Willis, a property manager for Niche Luxury Accommodation, told ABC News the company has to schedule and reschedule “millions of dollars worth of bookings”.

“When we came into this back in March, we thought we were going to have three months and we’d be back to normal,” she said.

But with Victorians finally allowed into the state from today, Willis is hopeful.

“We also know that Victorians spend a lot more per head than Queenslanders do — I’m sorry it sounds crazy, but it’s true.”

She said one property on her books, which is usually $50,000 weekly but is going for $80,000 over Christmas, has already had three booking confirmations since Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk’s announcement last week.

Willis said normally that money would go offshore.

“The people coming — at least two of them — would normally be on a superyacht in the Mediterranean right now,” she said.

“So, we’re bringing some really good money into the economy and we’re really looking forward to the future.”

The property, which is located on Sunshine Beach, has six bedrooms, 10 bathrooms and seven car parks, as well as a private pool, sauna, gymnasium, fire pit, cinema room, and even a conference and events room.

Travel Weekly has contacted Niche Luxury Accommodation for comment.
