The Travel Corporation 2023 Impact Report notes progress on climate action
Edited by Travel Weekly

The Travel Corporations (TTC) publishes its third annual Impact Report, with notable progress on climate action to advance its MAKE TRAVEL MATTER commitment.

The 2023 progress report outlines progress of its five-year sustainability strategy launched in September 2020, which features 11 measurable goals. It is led by the group’s decarbonisation efforts to achieve Net Zero or near zero emissions by 2050 or sooner.

Carbon Fund investments included the installation of solar panels at the NSW head offices of TTC (Bondi Junction) and AAT Kings (Alexandria), and the implementation of Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil biofuel. They also surpassed the goal to source at least 50 per cent of electricity needs from renewable sources by 2025, by reaching 54 per cent in 2023. TTC properties also produced solar energy equivalent to the needed electricity to power 150 homes for a year.

In another industry-first step, TTC also ended the purchase of branded merchandise designed to be gifted to guests and partners as it produces 6.5 million car-driven miles worth of carbon emissions yearly. The funds were reallocated to nature-based climate solutions already supported by their TreadRight Foundation.
