‘We just spray painted the f*ck out of this jet’ – Just Oil activists target Tay Tay plane

Two Just Stop Oil activists have been arrested in the UK after they went to Stansted airport and spray-painted two private jets bright orange.

The duo allege that superstar Taylor Swift’s jet was nearby, however Stansted Airport has since refuted these claims.

Police were called to the airport at 05:10 am local time following reports that two people had broken into the area and damaged two planes.

A spokesman for the airport said protestors had entered the private area of the airfield, away from the main passenger terminal and runway.

“As a precaution, runway operations were suspended for a short period, but no flights were disrupted, and the airport and flights are operating as normal,” he said.

According to the BBC, the two women – Jennifer Kowalski, 28, and Cole MacDonald, 22 – were arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage.

Kowalski had previously worked as a sustainability manager but became disillusioned by the pace of change in this role.

“Over the years, I’ve had to realise that even working in sustainability provides me with essentially no ability to make the necessary changes to prevent the complete collapse of our natural systems. I have to take desperate measures to make my voice heard,” she is quoted as saying on X.

“In 2024 we all have to be considering what we can do each day to change the course our society is on. We need an emergency treaty to stop the extraction and burning of oil, gas and coal by 2030.”

The news comes just after British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak condemned Just Oil activists for unleashing powder paint on Stonehenge – on of the UK’s oldest and most famous monuments.

Niamh Lynch, a 21-year-old student, and Rajan Naidu, 73, used “orange cornflour” for the stunt which coincides with the lead-up to the Sumer Solstice festival.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said “We have arrested two people following an incident at Stonehenge this afternoon.”

“At around noon, we responded to a report that orange paint had been sprayed on some of the stones by two suspects. Officers attended the scene and arrested two people on suspicion of damaging the ancient monument. Our inquiries are ongoing.”
