Audiovisual supplier AV1 has reported its strongest month on record, as managing director Keith Wootton insisted the industry was in “good shape”.
AV1 has recorded ongoing growth in bookings for events and conferences since opening its doors in September 2004, but the month of November has been the busiest on record as events bookings continue to grow.
In an exclusive interview with The Nibbler, managing director Keith Wootton cited the company’s reputation as a key contributor, but noted strong demand for business events was driving the trend.
“Despite what you’re hearing out there, there has been no let up in events business,” he said. “There’s a lot of noise out there about difficult conditions, but it’s not as bad as some people make out.”
Wootton admitted that there was more pressure to deliver higher quality events in an increasingly competitive environment, but said the industry was coping with changing client demands.
“Everyone has their head down at the moment, but the industry is in good shape,” he said. “It is crucial to listen and react to the market, but I do think the industry is learning how to do that to stay in the game.”
Meanwhile, Wootton said AV1’s new office in Melbourne was “tracking well” as it stepped into its second month of operation. Marking the company’s first step into Victoria, the office aims to support AV1’s existing client base across the east coast.
