Allianz Global Assistance has confirmed that it will offer support to its travel insurance customers impacted by last week's grounding of the Air Australia fleet.
The insurance provider said it would provide cover for "reasonable" expenses associated with accommodation and travel related costs to affected travellers who purchased their policies on or before February 16, 2012.
Allianz recommended that customers yet to travel should contact their travel agents or travel provider to determine the most cost effective way to alter or cancel their trip.
"There may be other options available with other airline providers," an Allianz statement said.
