An inspirational story from South Africa

For 22 years, two ladies living in South Africa's fastest growing and most depressed black township, Khayelitsha, have been feeding 182 neglected children every day, three times a day, 365 days a year.

""

In doing so they have produced 4.3 million meals for impoverished kids in their community.

Flying below the aid organisations' radar, Rosie's Kitchen frequently has to turn hungry children as young as two away due to a lack of supplies.

""

Last year Travel Weekly witnessed this plight first-hand & promised to help Rosie and her cousin Thandi.

""

Uniting the Australian travel industry, we raised enough money to provide food, gas and cooking supplies for six months.

""

99,644 meals later, our quest to help Rosie and the kids has begun again.

This year 10% of our advertising revenue from the green issue will once again be donated to Rosie so that no child who visits her kitchen goes hungry.

""

Jorvan Tours offers a township tour that includes a visit to Rosie's Kitchen from $49.
