It’s hard to go past a good juicy burger, and from June British Airways customers will be able to enjoy a specially created gourmet burger on flights.
The ‘flying burger’ recipe has been honed to perfection over the past ten months by the airlines chefs.
Although your ability to taste reduces by 30% at 35,000ft, the team of chefs has ensured full flavour with three different cuts of British beef used in the specialty dish. Gherkins, monterey jack cheese, tomato relish and brioche bun are some of the other components to the custom made dish.
“It has taken months of trials to ensure we get the perfect texture and succulence, not just for the British palate, but for the hundreds of other nationalities that fly with us. As taste buds are affected at altitude, we have created an original patty, which has proven extremely popular in taste-tests” British Airways chef Mark Tazzioli said.
From June onwards it will be exclusive to first customers in the ‘bistro menu’ of long-haul flights. The airline will also be serving a ‘grounded burger’; another unique burger featuring a different recipe in its first and Concorde lounges for customers in pre-flight dining.
Served with a side of triple cooked chips and a choice of relishes, this is set to be one of the tastiest dishes up in the air.
To celebrate the burger coming on board, British Airways has compiled a top 10 must-visit restaurants around the world for all those serious burger fans out there.
