Flight Centre has become the “key power” in China Southern’s travel agency distribution in Australia despite a shaky start, the carrier’s chief executive has said.
Tan Wangeng singled out the retailer as he thanked the Australian trade and wider industry for their support.
China Southern’s developments in Australia in three years has been a “miracle”, he said, with backing from Tourism Australia, government, trade and airports an integral part of its growth.
But Tan admitted that Flight Centre was initially doubtful about working with China Southern. “But they have built up their confidence in us,” he said. “They are a key power in selling our tickets in Australia.”
