A deal between Qantas and Emirates is likely within six months but any agreement will stop short of revenue sharing, the Dubai-based carrier has said.
Emirates chairman Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed al-Maktoum told reporters that talks have centered on a codeshare arrangement.
“The objective is to eventually see Qantas fly through Dubai,” he said. “The deal is likely within six months. We are not discussing revenue sharing.”
Qantas confirmed last week that talks are taking place with a number of airlines, including Emirates.
