Dubai’s has been named one of the world’s premier cities for business tourism by industry body Best Cities Alliance (BCA) for the sixth consecutive year.

The annual BCA audit evaluates categories such as destination expertise, international bid assistance, convention planning and on-site servicing.

“Dubai is the ultimate location that offers the very best of facilities, an expansive infrastructure, and above all, a culture of hospitality,” a BCA statement said.

Executive director business tourism at Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), Hamad bin Mejren, said the accolade recognises the behind the scenes efforts of the Dubai Convention and Events Bureau.

“We are delighted that the Best Cities Alliance audit has again found the services Dubai offers the world’s business community to be exemplary,” he said.

“Again and again, we hear glowing feedback from conference delegates who have experienced the best of modern Arabian hospitality during their stay in Dubai, but it is a testament to our hard work to receive such praise from such an important industry body as the Best Cities Alliance.”

The BCA audit follows the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) ranking which placed the emirate at 60th place worldwide based on the number of events it hosted in 2012 – making it the leading MICE city in the Middle East and North Africa region.

In 2012, the destination hosted 40,000 delegates who generated an economic impact of AED 312,000,000 – an increase of nearly 20% year on year.
