Emirates will make its long awaited entry into Adelaide in November with a four times weekly service, rising to daily flights in February 2013.
The Dubai-based airline will also increase frequencies to Perth with its current double daily services rising to 19 per week from December 1 and to triple daily from March 1 next year.
The increases were announced just 24 hours after Gulf rival Qatar Airways launched services to West Australia.
Emirates said the introduction of Adelaide, which has long been explored by senior management, and increased Perth frequencies, demonstrated the "economic strength and global demand" for the two cities.
It will operate 777-300ER aircraft in a three class configuration to South Australia, departing Dubai on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday and arriving in Adelaide at 8.45pm the same day.
The carrier said it will also grow capacity to Melbourne from October with the introduction of daily A380 services.
In addition to Australian growth, Emirates will add Lyon to its network from December 5 with a five times weekly service while a daily service to Warsaw will begin from February 6.
