Events at Sea gains traction

Complete Cruise Solution has reported a spike in MICE inquiries since the launch of its Events at Sea program earlier this year.

Following increased demand for meetings and incentive programs, the cruise operator launched the Events at Sea program earlier this year to meet growing demand. Detailed in a MICE-specific brochure, the program includes a number of itineraries catering for groups of 20 to 1200 people.

Several months on, the cruise operator is fielding “dozens of queries a month”, a representative told The Nibbler.

“Since we produced our dedicated Events at Sea brochure we’ve seen a surge in enquiries – so there’s no question the concept of a meeting at sea has appeal,” business development manager Rebecca Mutanen said.

She said competitive pricing and the all-inclusive nature of cruising were the key factors driving the trend.

“One of the main reasons cruising is the fastest growing sector within the travel industry is the value it offers, and for the same reason it’s getting a good reception in the events market, particularly with incentive organisers,” she said.

“Clients always like to maximise their budgets and are continually on the lookout for something different to offer,” Mutanen added.

Complete Cruise Solution is running a number of lunches and ship inspections to allow corporate event and incentive planners to test the latest MICE offerings first hand. Contact mice@carnivalaustralia.com for details.
