Visit California has announced the launch of a television commercial to air to Australian audiences from the end of January next year.
Visit California has invested $2 million in consumer marketing for Australia and the "Dreamers" advertisement features visitors following their dreams in the west coast state.
“Dreaming big is a unique state-of-mind that can be found in people statewide, from flying like a superhero on a jet pack in San Diego to playing princess at a castle among the vineyards of Napa Valley,” Visit California president and chief executive officer Caroline Beteta said.
"The new ‘Dreamers’ commercial shows how our fun-loving, free spirited vibe encourages visitors to follow their dreams here to California – and not just to the more obvious places like Silicon Valley or Hollywood,” Beteta added.
William Shatner, singer Sara Bareilles and surfer Rob Machado are some of the well-known locals featured in the 30-second film.
"People think Californians are just a bunch of dreamers," Sara Bareilles says to begin the commercial which features the Golden Gate Bridge, snowboarding at Squaw Valley, vineyards at Napa Valley and jet-packing at San Diego.
