The International Air Transport Association (IATA) remains in talks with administrators of Air Australia regarding funds the aviation body is holding for flight sectors that were not flown.

Debate has centered on whether the funds should be refunded to travel agents or forwarded to the administrators handling the failure.

Agents and wholesalers were financially stung by the collapse of the carrier.

An IATA spokesman said: “We are currently in discussions with the administrator regarding the Air Australia funds”.
