Jetset Travelworld’s newly created wholesaler, The Cruise Team, will remove the “complexity” of dealing with several brands, its general manager has said.

The shake-up of JTG’s cruise portfolio will see The Cruise Team replace individual brands in the market, including Harvey’s Choice Cruising and Travelscene Cruise Holidays (Travel Today, yesterday).

Alastair Fernie, who is leading the new wholesale business, said no brochures will be produced although electronic flyers containing special offers and new itineraries will be drawn up and accessed by its retail networks through the Cruise Team portal.

Jetset and Travelworld agents will access the product through the network’s National Cruise Centre although product will be branded The Cruise Team.

“All information will be dynamic, including pricing,” he said.

The operation will be supported with call centres in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.

Fernie said the electronic material will be supported by cruise lines’ individual brochures.

“Consolidating into The Cruise Team will make it easier to cut through all the various operators we had previously,” he added. “It takes away the complexity of having to communicate in several brands.”
