New cruise network begins expansion

New specialist network, Cruise Holidays, has signed up four retail agents and four home-based consultants as it released more details of its proposition for members.

Cruise Holidays branches in Brisbane and the Gold Coast will be joined by affiliate member Cruisemax in Rockhampton and an as-yet unidentified fourth agent.

Contracts are also being exchanged with a further two Sydney-based retailers.

The four 'Personal Cruise Specialists' are ex-retail consultants.

Cruise Holidays was formed back in July when Queensland-based Cruise Mart signed a Master Franchise agreement with US-based Cruise Holidays International.

"We are 100% focused on cruising, we're not a cruise club or a secondary concern of a larger organisation," said Cruise Holidays managing director Les Farrar.

He stressed that Cruise Holidays was also not a wholesaler, enabling agents to retain their relationships with the cruise lines direct.

For a monthly fee of $700, members will receive a purpose-build back office system, personalised website and direct mail marketing.

Farrar predicted the network would grow to around 50 agents in two years although he stressed it was more concerned with the quality of the agent than building numbers.
