Qatar Airways has hinted it will seek compensation from Boeing as the aircraft manufacturer strives to get its troubled 787 Dreamliner back in the skies.

The carrier's chief executive, Akbar Al Baker, expressed confidence the aircraft will soon return to service, identifying the malfunctions as one-off events rather than a sign of a deeper problem.

"But that does not mean I will not get compensation," he reportedly told a news conference.

 

Air Pacific's 242 cabin crew are in the process of being "upskilled" ahead of the arrival of the airline's first A330 on March 19th. More than 80 cabin crew have already attended the intensive A330 conversion training program at Cathay Pacific's training facility in Hong Kong.

 

Accor has outlined plans to grow its upscale network of Pullman, Sofitel, MGallery and Grand Mercure hotels to 400 by 2015. The French hotel firm currently has 300 properties in the segment.

 

NYC & Company has unveiled a new Brooklyn tool kit to assist the international and domestic travel trade in selling trips to the city's most populous borough.

The new "Brooklyn, Downtown and Nearby Neighborhoods" tool kit provides information on the area's hotels, attractions, cultural organisations and transport and is part of a push by the tourism body to enoucrage visitors to travel beyond Manhattan. Perth-based Cathay Pacific business development manager Jansen Stafford will relocate to Phnom Penh where he has been seconded as country manager Cathay Pacific Cambodia for the next two years.
