Etihad Airways has appointed Wayne Borland to the newly created position of regional business manager Asia Pacific South. Borland, who has been national sales manager industry for the last two years, will report to Lindsay White, the airline's vice president Asia Pacific South and Australasia.

 

Carlson Wagonlit Travel has confirmed Christophe Renard will take up the role of vice president of its global consulting arm, CWT Solutions Group. He succeeds Nick Vournakis, who is appointed senior vice president, Global Marketing.

 

Calum Laming, formerly head of guest experience at Etihad, will join Air New Zealand in the newly created role of general manager customer experience. The airline also confirmed the appointment of Rob Jager as a non-executive director from April 1.

 

CMV Australia has released the brochure for its first Australian season featuring 15 itineraries aboard 620-passenger cruise ship Astor which will be based at Fremantle. The cruise line reported a positive response from the trade to news of the ship's deployment.

 

The new Australia & New Zealand 2013-2014 program from Topdeck has been expanded to feature two new trips which include kangaroo and emu meat tasting in the outback and a Great Barrier Reef excursion.

To celebrate the launch, the youth operator is offering a free one way flight between Australia and New Zealand when you book any Australia trip over 10 days, plus a New Zealand trip until April 30.

 

The Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre has unveiled a special logo to celebrate its 25th anniversary this year with the tag line "25 Remarkable Years".

 

Philippine Airlines has unveiled a range of sale fares on its new Australian routes, with Brisbane, Perth and Darwin to join its network on June 1. Under the offer, return fares to Manila are priced from $392 including taxes.

 

Aegean Airlines will now sell pre-paid baggage through Sabre-connected travel agencies as the two firms extended their distribution agreement.

 

Cathay Pacific has released sales fares from Australia to China starting from $850, available until March 13 for travel until April 30.

 

Travel Indochina has reported growth of 300% for its range of Japan itineraries ahead of tomorrow's release of its 2013/14 Japan Handmade Holidays.
