Star Alliance has announced the addition of four new Round the World fares, which allow travellers to save money by making fewer stopovers.

The greatest saving in Economy Class is the new YRWSPL1 fare, offering three to seven stopovers from AUD$3681, saving travellers up to $408.

The biggest saving, however, is in Business class with the CRWSPCL fare, offering between three and 15 stopovers from AUD$10,015, with savings of up to $1861.

 

The Australian Federation of Travel Agents has appointed Dean Long as the National Manager of Strategy and Policy.

In this role, Long will overlook domestic and international policy to ensure growth in the travel and tourism industry is "heading in the right direction".

He brings 10 years of experience in government and private tourism sectors to this new role.

 

TravelManagers has introduced four new roles in the partnership office team in order to meet the demands of the company’s growing personal travel manager network.

“TravelManagers is well on its way to reaching the 500 personal travel managers milestone with a growing support team to match,” executive general manager Michael Gazal said.

The new positions include Graciela Craig as business partnership executive, Marlene Lane as marketing assistant, Sally Bates as training coordinator and Elly Eves as operations assistant. 

 

Creative Holidays has released the dates for its 2014 Asia Pacific Roadshow.

The event will provide agents with the opportunity to gain product and destination updates as well as meet with suppliers.

Dates and locations as follows: Perth – Monday 13 October, Adelaide – Tuesday 14 October, Melbourne – Wednesday 15 October, Brisbane – Thursday 16 October, Newcastle – Friday 17 October and Sydney – Monday 20 October.

 

Emirates will increase services to the Seychelles with the addition of two extra flights per week from October 28.

The additional flights will mean Emirates will be running two flights daily to island destination.

 

United Airlines will launch daily nonstop services between San Francisco and Tokyo’s Haneda airport from October 26, subject to government approval.

United’s Vice Chairman and Chief Revenue Officer, Jim Compton said: “By providing nonstop service from our San Francisco hub to both Tokyo airports, we will maximize choice and convenience for customers traveling from across the Americas to Tokyo, and to points beyond on our joint-venture partner ANA.”

 

Lindblad Expeditions – National Geographic have added eight new itineraries for the 2014-15 season.

These newcomers include expeditions to the Polar regions, Europe, Africa and the Indian Ocean, as well as four additional trips aboard National Geographic Orion.

 

The latest addition to the Ultimate Winery Experience of Australia is The Lane Vineyard in the Adelaide Hills of South Australia. One of the newest in Australia, the winery is known for its single vineyard wines.

The Lane offers tours and wine experiences ranging from a 1.5 hour A Sense of Place Tour and Tasting for $100 per person, to a two-day Adelaide Hills Ultimate Country Escape for $1,340 per person.
