The German National Tourist Board (GNTB) has launched its new social media campaign, entitled ‘My summer holiday in Germany – 25 years after the fall of the wall’.

The campaign focuses on videos by Canadian video blogger Mike Corey and his Dutch colleague Caspar Diederik, as well as incorporating an international photo contest on Instagram.

GNTB’s chief executive officer Petra Hedorfer said it was extremely important for the board to engage users with video content, with 90% of online users worldwide browsing video content on the internet in 2013.

Celebrity Cruises has added to its 2015/16 cruise holiday season with its new array of ‘Signature Event Sailings’, which allows guests to engage in global events as part of the Celebrity cruise throughout Europe, Asia and South America.

Events included in the various itineraries include Cannes Film Festival, Chinese New Year in Hong Kong and Carnival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

A new five-year deal that secures Melbourne as the host of Formula 1 races until 2020 will ensure Melbourne maintains its status as a global sporting capital, according to Tourism & Transport Forum (TTF).

TTF’s acting chief executive officer Trent Zimmerman said the Grand Prix delivers significant benefits to the economies of Melbourne and Victoria, with many guests extending their stay and participating in other events as well.

Rydges Hotel in Albury will undergo an extensive renovation and name-change to ‘Atura Hotels’ when Amalgamated Holdings Ltd (AHL) takes over in the near future.

The parent company of both Rydges Hotels and Resorts and Atura Hotels, AHL will provide luxurious accommodation at affordable prices, with the latest technology and high-value, edgy designs.

APT has launched a special offer where one traveller receives a free economy return flight from Australia when booking two people on an APT African small group safari.

The special offer applies to all holidays featured in APT’s Africa 2015 brochure, and requires the ‘free’ flyer to pay only their air taxes.
