Rail Plus has released its 2013 brochure featuring new rail journeys alongside a variety of non-rail options.

New product includes the 19 or 21-day independent or fully-escorted Trans Mongolian Discovery and attractions such as London's Sea Life Aquarium. In addition, Rail Plus has responded to travel agent requests with the addition of a fold-out map to the brochure.

AirAsia is offering savings on premium flatbed seats on its long-haul routes from Australia to Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Seoul, Beijing, Shanghai and Osaka.

Under the offer, premium one-way flights to the low cost carrier's hub in Kuala Lumpur are priced from $699 from Melbourne and the Gold Coast, $749 from Sydney and $649 from Perth. The fares are valid for booking until 3 February 2013 and for travel until 31 March 2013.

Air Pacific's domestic subsidiary Pacific Sun has finished 2012 with its on-time performance hitting a record high of 89% for the year. From April to December, 91% of the carrier's services were on time, despite disruptions as a result of unscheduled engine changes and Cyclone Evan.

AirAsia will cancel its Kuala Lumpur-Colombo service from February 26, according to website Airline Route. The end of the daily A320 service marks the end of the low cost carrier's Sri Lanka operations.

Etihad will grow capacity on its Dublin route by 34%, with the implementation of a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft from July 2.

The B777 will operate the six times weekly service from Abu Dhabi, providing 900 more seats each week than the current schedule.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that the airline will finalise a deal to buy a stake in India's Jet Airways on Friday, with the Middle Eastern carrier expected to pay up to US$330 million for a 24% share in its codeshare partner.

Delta Air Lines has reported a net income for the December quarter of US$7 million after Hurricane Sandy wiped US$100 million from its bottom line.
