Travel agents selected for Rail Plus’s 2012 Rail Experts program will need to demonstrate their expertise not only of rail travel but also of France in this year’s training courses.

The program has also been renamed Rail Expert and French Specialist Program after Rail Plus joined forces with French Travel Connection and Atout France to put together the eight training modules.
Four of the modules will be designed by Rail Plus, three by FTC and one by Atout France.
“For the first time ever, this year’s graduates will be able to promote themselves as experts in both rail and France, providing them with the skills and knowledge to increase sales and gain a genuine competitive advantage over rivals,” Rail Plus national sales and marketing manager Greg McCallum said.
A total of 35 agents will be chosen to take part in the program with written submissions due in by this Thursday, April 19.
Agents must say in 500 words or less why they should be given an opportunity to become a rail expert and French specialist. Submissions should be sent to Jessica Halliday at jhalliday@railplus.com.au.
All chosen consultants will complete the modules over an eight-week period.
The top graduate will fly with a partner to Europe and travel across the continent on two 15-day Eurail Global Passes and two Eurostar tickets. The next four top scoring agents will join a fam trip to France.
