Far East Hospitality has launched an art-inspired Rendezvous hotel in Singapore and plans to roll out the art concept to its Australian locales.
“The plan is to restyle Perth and Melbourne into art hotels eventually,” Far East Organisation executive director Chng Kiong Huat said.
This is the third hotel rebrand for Far East Hospitality in Singapore following on from the AMOY hotel and the Village Hotel Katong opening.
“Apart from launching three hotels, it is about launching three new brands,” Far East Hospitality chief executive officer Arthur Kiong said.
The art element will be introduced to other Rendezvous hotels in a piecemeal fashion, to introduce more character.
“Guests who are looking to experience creative stimulus will be thrilled to find that our hotel is dedicated to evoking the sense and sensibility of their inner artist,” Kiong said.
The art focus will be centered on local artists and attract events that would have previously been hosted in art galleries.
“We don’t have venues in Singapore for art in hotels, other art events are in the museums,” Huat said.
Rendezvous Hotel Singapore is located in the museum planning area of the city, and is within walking distance to art schools and exhibition spaces.
“The location made it an easy and natural decision to create a sensory experience that is in line with Singapore’s promotion of the arts and cultural precinct,” Kiong said.
