Singapore Airlines has confirmed it is talks to sell its 49% shareholding in Virgin Atlantic, following reports that Delta Air Lines is eyeing the stake.
In a statement on the Singapore Stock Exchange, the airline said it is in discussions with “interested parties” concerning a possible deal. But it stressed these “may or may not” result in a transaction.
Singapore invested in Virgin Atlantic in 2000 for GBP600 million but has been open to selling its stake for years.
