Industry stalwart Norm Thompson will step down from his role at Air New Zealand after 44 years with the airline.
Thompson will retire as deputy chief executive on June 30 next year.
Chief executive Rob Fyfe paid tribute to his “passion, commitment and knowledge”.
“He has enabled me to lead the business in the way I felt important by picking up on my behalf a multitude of key projects and international stakeholder relationships,” Fyfe said.
“Few Air New Zealanders have made as significant a contribution to our airline and the nation’s tourism industry as Norm has over the past 44 years.”
