Tiger Airways has today launched its base in Sydney with chief executive Andrew David declaring the airline’s "formative days are behind it".
David greeted passengers at Sydney Airport travelling on Tiger's inaugural flight to the Gold Coast and said support for the carrier since it resumed flying last August has been “overwhelming”.
Three A320 aircraft will progressively operate from Sydney providing additional capacity to Melbourne and offering new routes.
The carrier will soon launch its first TV adverts in Australia.
