Topdeck has slashed prices in its 2012/13 Egypt brochure as the youth specialist attempts to rebuild bookings in the wake of the Arab Spring.
The new brochure features 22 trips priced up to 15% cheaper than last year.
Topdeck Asia Pacific and South Africa sales manager Ben Ittensohn said Egypt bookings from Australia and New Zealand were up 128% compared to last year – when bookings evaporated.
“After a challenging year following the early 2011 uprising, forward bookings are again looking positive,” he said.
He remained confident that the savings, combined with a range of “off the beaten track” itineraries would help tourism numbers return to the troubled destination.
“Our goal is to rebuild bookings back to 2010 levels but appreciate it may take some time for consumers to regain confidence in this fascinating travel destination,” he said, adding that the operator remained “100% committed” to Egypt.
Its 13-day Pharoahs’ Footsteps tour is priced from $1155 per person.
