Wicked Campers under fire over controversial slogans

Campervan hire company Wicked has been slammed with an online petition over its controversial slogan-covered vehicles.

The online petition started by Sydney mother Paula Orbea at Change.org is calling on Wicked campers to "eliminate misogynistic and degrading slogans and imagery" from their vans. Currently there are nearly 60,000 supporters who have signed the petition.

Marketed at backpackers, Wicked Campers on the roads sport explicit graffiti artwork and controversial slogans, including "virginity can be cured" or "In every princess, there's a little slut who wants to try it just once."

The company has already been the subject of complaints to the Advertising Standards Board, with the Queensland government set to debate the fate of the Brisbane-based company later this month. One local mayor is pushing for Wicked to come under the same scrutiny as outdoor advertising.

Wicked has reportedly said the company does not try to be controversial and is unfazed with the public backlash.
