AAT Kings has launched its 2027-2028 Australia and New Zealand season featuring new Small Group journeys and immersive itineraries designed to help travellers discover more than the destination itself.

To mark the launch, AAT Kings has put the season on sale from now until 30 September 2026 for travel from 1 April 2027 to 31 March 2028, with savings of up to AU$2,200 per couple and up to NZ$2,800 per couple available across selected departures.

The tour operator is placing the spotlight on local stories, regional communities and deeper connections with the people and places that define Australia and New Zealand, as it responds to growing demand for more authentic travel experiences.

“Travellers are increasingly looking for holidays that go beyond ticking off the icons,” AAT Kings Group CEO Ben Hall said. “They want to connect with local people, uncover stories they didn’t know, and experience the places they visit through the communities, cultures and landscapes that make them unique.”

Highlighted itineraries

  • Outback New South Wales Adventurer: A new nine-day Small Group journey that reveals the rich character, living heritage and landscapes of regional New South Wales with destinations including Mungo National Park and Broken Hill.
  • South Island Splendour and South Island Highlights: Two new New Zealand itineraries that combine famous landscapes with local encounters that reveal the heart and soul of the country.
  • Oamaru Penguin Conservation Centre: Where travellers gain behind-the-scenes insight into the conservation of New Zealand’s little blue penguins.

The season also includes a range of new Short Break itineraries, which provides travellers with greater flexibility to experience iconic destinations through shorter, curated holidays that can be enjoyed as standalone escapes or combined with longer journeys.

The full collection is available on AAT Kings’ website.
