Adventure World has unveiled its new “Rails Across the Rockies” itinerary, a 14-day exclusive 2026 luxury rail expedition marking a milestone in North American rail travel with the three-day daylight journey of the brand-new Canyon Spirit.
Crafted by the visionary team behind the world-renowned Rocky Mountaineer, Canyon Spirit makes its highly anticipated debut in 2026. Adventure World is proud to be among the first to offer the complete three-day experience, connecting Denver to Salt Lake City in a seamless, cinematic traversal of the American Southwest.
The Renaissance of slow travel
In an era of transit-heavy tourism, Rails Across the Rockies invites travellers to embrace the “romance of the rails.” The itinerary is a love letter to locomotive history, featuring five of Colorado’s iconic historic railways, including high-altitude steam loops and the legendary Pikes Peak Cog Railway.
The centerpiece of this journey – the Canyon Spirit will see passengers enjoy:
- Panoramic Discovery: Glass-domed coaches designed to reveal every inch of sculpted desert canyons and towering granite peaks.
- Daylight-Only Routing: A commitment to “never miss a view,” with overnight stays in charming local hotels in Glenwood Springs and Moab.
- Narrative Excellence: Onboard Hosts who serve as storytellers, weaving the history of the rugged frontier into the journey.
- Regional Gastronomy: Menus inspired by the Southwest, paired with premium service.
“We designed this itinerary for the traveller who is seeking more than just a destination; they want to be taken on a unique journey with a great story,” Adventure World product manager North America Kristy Prince said.
“By integrating the full three-day Canyon Spirit route into a broader 14-day curated journey, we’ve captured the true essence of the Southwest. There is something magic as you watch the landscapes shift from rugged Rocky Mountain peaks of Colorado to the Red Rock desert of Utah, all from the comfort of a luxury rail carriage. It is, quite simply, the ultimate way to experience the western USA.”
“The introduction of the full Denver-to-Salt Lake City route is a game-changer for the region,” Armstrong Collective director of sales Tony Soden said. “Adventure World has perfectly captured the momentum of the 2026 inaugural season, offering a comprehensive experience that highlights why this specific stretch of track is considered one of the most beautiful in the world.”
This Rails Across the Rockies itinerary is 14 Days / 13 Nights priced from AU$13,145pp/NZ$14,275pp. Highlights include: Rocky Mountain National Park, the Great Salt Lake, Antelope Island, and the exclusive 3-day Canyon Spirit journey.
