PONANT EXPLORATIONS welcomed a group of travel professionals aboard Le Dumont d’Urville on the Corsica and the Tuscan Archipelago by Sea itinerary in partnership with Smithsonian Journeys.
Hosted by PONANT EXPLORATIONS’ state manager NSW & ACT, Kristina Sambaher, the educational voyage showcased PONANT’s luxury small-ship cruising alongside expert-led enrichment.
Advisors were given exclusive insights with onboard lectures from internationally recognised art historian Rafael Chacón and acclaimed journalist, author and former Reuters foreign correspondent Adam Tanner.
These lectures unpacked the history, art, culture and geopolitics of the Mediterranean, adding layers to the journey and offering the educational depth that defines a Smithsonian Journeys departure.
Sailing from Nice, the itinerary explored Corsica, Elba and the Tuscan Archipelago. Highlights included Bonifacio’s dramatic limestone cliffs, Giglio Island, Portofino and a range of authentic local culinary experiences.
Guests enjoyed swimming directly from the ship’s marina platform, an exclusive bridge cocktail reception with Captain Sébastien Dubuffet and his senior officers and exceptional French-inspired hospitality throughout the voyage.
