Aeronology offers free booking and ticketing tech for wholesalers

Aeronology is offering free implementation of its wholesale flight booking service until the end of the year to help take the sting out of COVID-19.

The program aims to make sure all wholesalers and members of the MICE community who need, or would like to add flights to their products, can embed non-core flights into their customers’ services.

“I’ve been inundated with enquiries by various wholesale businesses asking if our ticketing technology could be used within the current wholesale models, and I’ve advised, ‘of course, it can quite easily be’,” Russell Carstensen, CEO of Aeronology said.

“I know that most, if not all wholesale businesses have little to no air flight expertise – it’s generally a high-cost, highly manual process and it is very difficult to procure and maintain experienced travel consultants to provide these services to their varied customer bases.”

Carstensen said the current environment is forcing even big operators to be careful with their money, so this offer is an opportunity to rebuild air teams and move to a profit centre instead of running at a loss.

“Flights are a must-have add-on that most wholesalers and travel suppliers don’t manage very well, but will need to provide as we work our way out of COVID,” he said.

“Currently, flights are a non-performing cost to their core business. However, they add significant value to the traveller experience, and flights need to be provided to stay in business.

“While COVID is still out there and businesses need to remodel, we will not charge any implementation costs. It’s only small transaction charges that can be on-charged, and if you don’t use it, you don’t pay.”
