You snooze, you lose – and your ATAS accreditations get cancelled.
The Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) has today taken action against agencies that have failed to renew their accreditation in time.
The national accreditation scheme for travel agents helps Aussie customers locate the best agencies in the industry – and agencies have to meet high standards to qualify (like renewing their membership in time).
The unlucky – and now unaccredited – agencies are:
- Cruise Addict Pty Ltd
- Check Us Out Travel
- Japan Snow Accommodation
- Helping Hand Group
- Wombat Trip
These agencies will now be forced to remove any logo or reference to AFTA or ATAS from their website, business cards, internet or social media sites, in-store promotional signs, brochures, flyers and newsletters. Basically; erase any trace of AFTA and the scheme completely from the company.
AFTA warned that “further cancellations are imminent where ATAS Accredited Participants fail to demonstrate that their business meets the criteria set out in s2.5 of the ATAS Charter” – which obvs includes not renewing participation in the scheme.
All in all AFTA is sending a clear message by cancelling accreditations left, right and centre – renew. Your. Membership.
