A new regional television campaign will see the Australia Federation of Travel Agents (AFRA) promote its Travel Accreditation Scheme (ATAS) to consumers that live beyond Australia’s cities.

The TVC, which launched at the weekend and will air until early March, is expected to grow awareness of the scheme in regional areas.

AFTA chief executive Jayson Westbury said the new campaign is part of a “broader marketing strategy” which aims to highlight the benefits of booking with an ATAS-accredited agent to consumers.

The 15 second TVC will air across the Nine network, with a potential audience of more than 3.64 million consumers in regional Australia.

It follows the TVC’s first airing in November on Channel 9 Sydney when it reached more than 4 million consumers via TV screens, and a further 116,000 via the channel’s digital platforms in the run up to Christmas.

“The commercial was well-received by both consumers and industry alike and therefore we have extended our activity to support ATAS accredited travel agents in regional areas of Australia, Westbury said.
