The Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) is asking for feedback and recommendations to help them update their AFTA Travel Accreditation Scheme (ATAS) code of conduct.

That’s right, they want your opinion about how the charter will progress.

The ATAS Charter provides a commitment from the AFTA Board to review the ATAS Charter and Code every 3 years

Jayson Westbury, Chief Executive, AFTA said, “the aim of the review is to receive feedback and recommendations from interested parties in regard to the effectiveness of the ATAS scheme in achieving its objectives and the operation of the ATAS scheme.”

“We will call for submissions from industry which will be reviewed by Mr Hank Spier who has been appointed to analyse the submissions against the ATAS Charter and Code of Conduct and provide a report to the AFTA Board for consideration,” said Westbury.

The AFTA Board will release a response to any recommendations made in the report later in the year including any approved amendments to the Charter or Code.

The review is limited to the ATAS Charter and its appendix which includes the ATAS Code of Conduct.

Full details regarding how to submit and the terms of reference for the review can be found on the AFTA website here.

Submissions open from today and close 30 April 2018.
