Agents travelling with Trafalgar as part of The Travel Corporation’s Great Escape famil were in the crowd when some vile bandits tried to rob them!
Well, kind of…
Agents traversing through the wild west were treated to a Cataract Creek Gang showdown in Williams, Arizona, and while there were bandits, and some lighthearted ‘robbing’ included in the performance, thankfully the agents escaped unharmed.
The cheeky folk were part of an introduction to life back in the days of saloons and train robbing, and Trafalgar agents lapped it up before boarding the historic Grand Canyon Railway, with the final destination being the mighty Grand Canyon herself.
Travellers passed through the majestic Ponderosa Pines, the high desert and the Kaibab National Forest, while country man Cody entertained them with some country music singalongs.
But nothing could prepare agents for the spectacular canyon, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, and more than 1.7 billion years in the making.
Agents were given some insight into how their clients are treated on tour with the Local Specialist experience. Tim was our passionate and nerdy ‘rock man’, with highly detailed knowledge of every rock, crevice and movement the Grand Canyon has made throughout history. Showing agents examples of these rocks and using a microphone which fed through to headphones the agents all used, it was an exclusive way to experience the marvel.
Agents then had time to explore and take selfless along the South Rim of the canyon, before joining their Travel Director for a walk around to the perfect spot to watch sunset.
The next day agents boarded the coach and set their sights on Las Vegas! But before reaching that, they stopped in at Route 66 hotspot and inspiration for the movie ‘Cars’, Seligman. The town was brimming with photo opportunities and quaint souvenir shops, which agents took advantage of before continuing the drive to Sin City.
One more stop off to experience the vast and impressive manmade marvel of Hoover Dam, complete with a private tour and no queues, and agents finally reached the sexy and exciting entertainment capital of the world.
Here, Travel Weekly farewelled their newfound friends and checked in to Harrah’s with Contiki, and the adventure of the TTC Great Escape continued.
