Pacific island-focused travel agent training events, Treasures of the South Pacific, will return in 2016, with the aim of helping agents improve their product knowledge.
The series, sponsored by South Pacific Tourism Organisation and Pacific Islands Trade & Invest, will commence with events in Melbourne on 26 April, 2016 and Hobart on 27 April, 2016 then continuing around the country until October.
Representatives from the tourism offices of Cook Islands, New Caledonia, Norfolk Island, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tahiti, Vanuatu and some Hidden Treasures (Kiribati, Nauru, Marshall Islands, Palau, Federated States of Micronesia, Tonga, Tuvalu, American Samoa, Niue) will come together to showcase each of these South Pacific holiday destinations.
The format will feature informative seminars and networking with destination, product and operator representatives. Agents will hear about the latest product updates and be in the running for a range of prizes including a seven night trip to one of the South Pacific destinations.
Kerryn Cook, President of Treasures of the South Pacific, said agents play a fundamental role in their ambitions for expansion across the South Pacific and these events provide valuable face to face networking time.
“Agents are our frontline to consumers, so these events are vital in ensuring they are well equipped and up-to-date on all the happenings of the region and gives them the chance to ask any burning questions face-to-face,” she said.
“These forums will provide them with the tools they need to be really specific when selling the Pacific”.
