Online travel agency (OTA) Agoda has rolled out a new product that enables customers to book flights at the same time as their accommodation, without leaving the platform.

Agoda Flights started live testing in August 2019 in limited markets and restricted platforms, and has since extended this testing to 10 markets on desktop, mobile and the Agoda app, according to a company spokesperson.

The markets are Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Hong Kong, Korea, Indonesia, Taiwan, the Philippines, India, and Singapore.

Agoda Flights has been developed in close collaboration with sister company Priceline. Travellers can choose from hundreds of routes and airline partners to book one-way, return or multi-stop flights.

“We constantly experiment with products to see what our customers want, and we quickly realised from our test with flights powered by Kayak that there is a growing demand to be able to book flights and accommodation together,” Agoda’s spokesperson told Travel Weekly.

Agoda declined to share its booking data since the launch of ‘Flights’, but the company’s spokesperson said it hopes to lead many of the Asian markets by 2021, “capturing a significant share of the 800 million arrivals to the region”.

In September, the OTA unveiled a refreshed visual identity, including a redesigned logo, custom typeface and new brand characters called ‘Agojis’.
