The Asia-Pacific Incentives & Meetings Expo (AIME) have announced the winners of the AIME Awards for 2015, celebrating Exhibitors who have shown excellence in presentation, stand-design and innovation on the show floor.

The Industry Person of the Year was awarded to Kate Smith, Founding Director at Waldron Smith: Conference & Event Management at the 2015 AIME CEO Summit.

Jacqui Timmins, Exhibitions Director for AIME and CIBTM said Kate has been recognised for thirty years of professional work in the Business Events Industry, whose passion and professionalism make her one of the sector’s most influential members.

The awards, which include Best New Exhibitor Stand, Best Environmental Stand and Best Innovative Stand, were announced at the inaugural Movers and Shakers Party last night, held in the brand new Community Hub on the show floor under the eyes of more than 1,300 Exhibitors, Hosted Buyers and Visitors.

Microflite Helicopter Services took out the award for Best New Exhibitor Stand, with judges noting that the space was used in a smart way with beautiful photography to showcase their unique product offering.

International Convention Centre Sydney took out the award for Best Innovative Stand, while the Best Environmental Stand was awarded to Miramare Gardens due to their display of energy efficiency on the stand and effective use of waste management.

Best Stand over 36sqm was awarded to Thailand Convention Tourism Bureau while Best Stand under 36sqm was awarded to Sydney Olympic Park Authority with both demonstrating fantastic presentation of the products and clear originality in design.

Finally, the winner of the People’s Choice Award went to Decorative Events & Exhibitions recognised for their striking and creative design.

Jacqui Timmins said it was important to acknowledge the effort that Exhibitors invest to make their stands look attractive and welcoming.

“All of our Exhibitors have showcased a high level of creativity in their stand designs, displaying a great sense of imagination as well as innovative conceptual thinking.

“In conjunction with the new AIME show floor, the highly creative Exhibitor stands have provided attendees with a new onsite experience, encouraging inspiration, networking and business across the show floor,” Timmins said .
