AIME attendees can now access a free Smartphone app to help them get around next week’s show.

The ShowGizmo app, launched in conjunction with Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) and ShowGizmo, allows attendees to access program details and up-to-date information from their phone.

They can also collect brochures, make network connections and receive real-time alerts before, during and after the event.

AIME event director, Sally de Swart welcomed the initiative as a "great opportunity" to use technology in a meaningful business setting.

"Up until now the only option at exhibitions was to exchange business cards and collect literature," she said. "The ShowGizmo app means information can now also be shared digitally which may be more convenient for some attendees."

ShowGizmo marketing executive Josh Dry said the app will allow AIME attendees to make the most of the show.

"Using these devices will free up time and make it much easier to get full value out of their participation, so attendees can concentrate on the important things such as networking and doing business," he said.

ShowGizmo is free to all AIME registered attendees with Android, Blackbery and iPhone devices. It can be downloaded from the app store or via the ShowGizmo website by using the event password ‘aime2012’.
