An Air Berlin pilot is being investigated after attempting a “risky” stunt on a landing in Dusseldorf Airport.

The flight, travelling from Miami to Germany and carrying more than 200 passengers, was recorded by Air Traffic Control and is now being widely circulated.

In the video, a woman can be heard saying: “What is he doing?”

The video captures the plane flying what seems like inches away from the airport terminal, as the plane looked like it was about to land and then picks up speed and elevation and heads upward.

The plane then makes a sharp left turn towards the terminal building, leaving the people on the outside terrace screaming in fear.

According to the Mirror UK, an airport employee who watched the dramatic scenes unfold thought at first the plane would crash right into the terminal.

She said: “It was a strange feeling when the A330 came right at us, as we did not know before that it would do a honorary lap.”

The federal aviation authority (LBA) is set to investigate, The Local reports.
