Air Canada is set to make history as the first official airline partner of Sydney Film Festival next month.

The 73rd annual Sydney Film Festival returns this year from 3-14 June with 250 films from 81 countries, including 19 world premieres, set across 12 days of captivating cinema.

A far cry from its original launch event in 1954, with nine films shown over four days, the event brings worldwide attention to Australian cinema and culture.

As the festival’s first official airline partner, Canada’s national carrier will also sit firmly in the spotlight with an Air Canada Welcome Lounge in the ‘Festival Hub’.
Here, the airline will bring a taste of ‘Poutine by Air Canada’ to Sydney’s Town Hall.
What’s more, every attendee that purchases a Flexipass or Subscription to this year’s Sydney Film Festival before 17 May will automatically take part in a prize draw to ‘Win a Cinematic trip to Canada.’
The winner will receive a trip for two to Canada, with two return economy class flights from Sydney, two nights at the Hilton Downtown Vancouver, three nights at Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa, and three nights at Fairmont Chateau Whistler.
The prize package also includes activities in Vancouver, including entry Flyover, an award-winning immersive flying theatre attraction and two tickets to the scenic Capilano Suspension Bridge Park.
Marketing and online sales manager Eunica Pineda said it is an honour for Air Canada to be the Official Airline Partner of one of the world’s longest running and most revered film festivals.
“Air Canada has a long and proud history of supporting Canadian film makers and sponsoring film festivals, which like us have a passion for bringing people together to experience different cultures, share stories and, ultimately, create enduring memories,” she said.
