AirAsia has announced it will suspend flights between Melbourne and Denpasar, and Adelaide and Denpasar, with services on both routes ending on 18 June 2026.

Captain Achmad Sadikin Abdurachman, General Manager of Indonesia AirAsia, said rising global jet fuel prices driven by ongoing geopolitical instability in the Middle East had made the routes unviable.

“This operating environment has led to the need to refocus our network on routes that remain operationally viable at this time,” he said.

The carrier said its teams are contacting affected passengers directly to outline their options, including date changes or rerouting via AirAsia’s Kuala Lumpur hub.

Captain Abdurachman acknowledged the impact on travellers with existing bookings. “AirAsia understands the suspension impacts long-made travel plans and we apologise for the inconvenience this decision has caused,” he said.

Both routes are operated by Indonesia AirAsia. The final services will depart on 18 June 2026.
