A die-hard JLo fan managed to convince an airline to pay tribute to the singer and actress to celebrate her Golden Globe nomination.

In honour of Jennifer Lopez’s nomination for best supporting actress for her role in Hustlers, mega-fan Joseph Longo requested the crew on a JetBlue flight from New York to Los Angeles make an announcement requesting passengers to watch the movie on the inflight entertainment system, according to Lonely Planet.

Hustlers follows the story of a group of strippers who fall on hard times in the recession and turn to ethically questionable methods to swindle money out of rich men.

“A @JetBlue pilot read my plea that passengers watch Hustlers in honour of @JLo’s #GoldenGlobes nom,” Longo said in a tweet.

“I called myself The Backup J.Lo, but I guess I’m her backup dancer. The friendly skies supports our fly girl!”

The tweet is accompanied by a video of Longo’s reaction as the pilot reads out the announcement.

“Ladies and gentleman, we do have a special request from one of our customers, Joseph Longo. He’s a well-known backup dancer for Jennifer Lopez and, as of this morning, Jennifer Lopez is nominated for a Golden Globe for her work in Hustlers,” the pilot said.

“Hustlers is one of our inflight movie options and we’d greatly appreciate if you’d join us in supporting Ms Lopez and watch Hustlers on our flight today. Thanks for your support and we hope Jennifer wins that Oscar.”

Longo’s video was retweeted by Lopez herself, who praised his efforts.

“This is amazing!!!!!!! You can be my backup dancer any day??THANK YOU FOR THE SUPPORT! @josephlongo_ @JetBlue ♥️? ,” she tweeted.

According to Lonely Planet, JetBlue offered to fly Longo to Los Angeles in its premium cabin of Lopez “can get him in” to the award ceremony.
