Abercrombie & Kent has launched an 8-day, US$125,000 Rio Carnival to Iguazú Falls: An Inspiring Expedition personally hosted by the company’s founder Geoffrey Kent.
Limited to just 16 guests and priced from USD$124,995 (AUD$191,330) per person, the exclusive departure on 5 February 2027 promises unprecedented access to two of Brazil’s most dazzling icons: Rio de Janeiro’s legendary Carnival and the thunderous majesty of Iguazú Falls.
“Brazil is my second home, and I am thrilled to welcome guests to experience it in the way I love it most,” Kent said.
“From an exclusive on-field moment with a soccer star and soaring by helicopter around Christ the Redeemer, to diving into the energy of Carnival with exclusive VIP access, this journey captures the very soul of Rio. Then we’ll continue on to Iguazú Falls, exploring both the Brazilian and Argentinian sides with privileged access and another spectacular helicopter flight, for a perspective on this natural wonder that few others will share.”
Helicopter ride over Rio’s Christ statue
True to Kent’s signature style, the itinerary blends rare access, cultural immersion and seamless service. In Rio, guests are granted behind-the-scenes entry to Maracanã Stadium after hours, stepping onto the pitch alongside a Brazilian football icon. A helicopter flight over Christ the Redeemer and the city’s golden beaches sets the tone, followed by a private cable car ascent of Sugar Loaf Mountain for sunset views across Guanabara Bay.
Accommodation in Rio is at the Philippe Starck-designed Fasano Hotel overlooking Ipanema Beach, while a welcome dinner in a private Santa Teresa estate introduces the rhythm and flavour of the week ahead.
Carnival itself is experienced at the highest level. Travellers stroll the red carpet at the Copacabana Palace Magic Ball with all-access passes, gain insider entry to a samba school rehearsal and culminate the celebration in a private lounge at the Sambadrome, witnessing the spectacle of floats, dancers and drum corps in complete comfort.
The journey then continues by private charter flight to Iguazú Falls, where guests check into the Belmond Hotel das Cataratas – the only hotel located inside the national park. With before-hours access to the falls, helicopter flights over the cascades and an exhilarating boat ride to the base of the roaring waters, the UNESCO World Heritage-listed wonder is explored from every vantage point.
Fully inclusive dining, curated cocktail events, Travelling Bell Boy luggage handling, laundry service, an expert Tour Director, local guides and a dedicated photographer ensure every detail is handled.
