Carnival Cruise Line’s 2026/27 Australian itineraries

The 2026/27 season features 201 sailings, and the addition of the Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter. Thus, increasing the fleet number to four ships, making it Australia’s largest cruise line as they offer guests even more choices for unforgettable holidays at sea.

The expanded program includes year-round sailings from Sydney on Carnival Adventure and Carnival Splendor, and from Brisbane on Carnival Encounter and Carnival Luminosa (seasonally). The itineraries feature popular destinations such as Moreton Island, the South Pacific, and the Great Barrier Reef, as well as New Zealand, Fiji, Papua New Guinea, and more.

In response to the growing popularity of short getaways, Carnival expanded its selection of two-to-four-night cruises. These sailings are ideal for first-time cruises or those wanting to make the most of a long weekend. According to research commissioned by Carnival Cruise Line in 2024, 33 per cent of Aussies report feeling refreshed after a holiday of just three to five days.

Sailings from Sydney and Brisbane

2-Day Getaways from Sydney

  • Sydney to Sydney ($379 average per person, 2-person room)
    The voyage departs at 4pm and spends the entire 2nd day at sea before returning early in the morning (at 6:30am) on the 3rd day aboard the Carnival Splendor.
  • Sydney to Brisbane ($384 per person, 2-person room)
    Guests aboard the Carnival Luminosa head out from Sydney to enjoy a fun day at sea before arriving in Brisbane at 8am on the 3rd day.

2-Day Getaway from Brisbane

  • Brisbane to Brisbane ($414 average per person, 2-person room)
    The Carnival Luminosa sets out from Brisbane for a fun day at sea with more than 45 onboard activities before returning to port.

3-Day Getaways from Sydney

  • Sydney to Brisbane ($374 average per person, 2-person room)
    Travellers can enjoy all the activities aboard the Carnival Splendor while heading from Sydney to Brisbane.
  • Sydney to Sydney ($449 average per person, 2-person room)
    Head out from Sydney to enjoy three days aboard the Carnival Splendor and all the onboard activities before returning to port.

3-Day Getaway from Brisbane

  • Brisbane to Brisbane ($424 average per person, 2-person room)
    Travellers aboard the Carnival Luminosa set out at 4pm for two fun days out at sea before heading back to port, arriving at 8am on the 4th day.

4-Day Airlie Beach from Brisbane

  • Brisbane to Brisbane ($569 average per person, 2-person room)
    Heading out from Brisbane at 4pm, guests aboard the Carnival Luminosa get to enjoy a full day of fun out at sea before arriving in Airlie Beach at 7am on the 3rd day. The 4th will once again be enjoyed at sea with the ship over 45 activities before arriving back in Brisbane at 8am on the 5th day.

4-Day Tangalooma – Moreton Island from Sydney

  • Sydney to Tangalooma – Moreton Island to Sydney ($609 average per person, 2-person room)
    The Carnival Splendor heads out from Sydney at 4pm, allowing guests to enjoy a full 2nd day out at sea before arriving in Tangalooma at 8am on the 3rd day. The 4th day is spent back out at sea before arriving back in Sydney at 6:30am on the 5th day.

4-Day Tasmania from Sydney 

  • Sydney to Hobart, Tasmania to Sydney ($649 average per person, 2-person room)
    Travellers aboard the Carnival Splendor head out from Sydney at 4pm and spend the next day enjoying onboard activities while out at sea. The cruise arrives at Tasmania on the 3rd day where they can make the most of the popular destination. The 4th day is once again spent at sea before arriving back in Sydney at 6:30am on the 5th day.

5-Day Tasmania from Sydney

  • Sydney to Hobart, Tasmania to Port Arthur to Sydney ($819 average per person, 2-person room)
    The 5-day cruise heads out from Sydney at 4pm and spend the 2nd day out at sea before arriving in Hobart on the 3rd day. It then continues to Port Arthur for the 4th day and spends the 5th day back out at sea to enjoy onboard activities. The cruise arrives back in Sydney at 6:30am on the 6th day.

8-Day New Caledonia from Sydney

  • Sydney to Mare, Lifou, Noumea to Sydney ($839 average per person, 2-person room)
    The Carnival Splendor heads out from Sydney at 4pm and spends the next two days out at sea where guests can enjoy the ship’s onboard activities. The 4th day is spent at Mare, the 5th at Lifou, and the 6th at Noumea. Day 7 and 8 are spent at sea once again before arriving back in Sydney at 6:30am on the 9th day.
  • Sydney to Noumea, Lifou, Noumea to Sydney ($1,509 average per person, 2-person room)
    Departing from Sydney at 4pm, the Carnival Splendor is set to spend the next 2 days out at sea before arriving at Noumea on the 4th day. They continue to Lifou to spend the 5th day and return to Noumea on the 6th day. Before arriving back at Sydney, the cruise spend two days out at sea.

7-Day Vanuatu & New Caledonia from Brisbane

  • Brisbane to Lifou, Mystery Island, Noumea to Brisbane ($844 average per person, 2-person room)
    The Carnival Luminosa heads out from Brisbane to enjoy two full days out at sea before arriving in Lifou. The cruise spends the 5th day on Mystery Island and the 6th day in Noumea. A full day is spent at sea before arriving back in Brisbane on the 8th day.
  • Brisbane to Noumea, Lifou, Mystery Island ($939 average per person, 2-person room)
    The cruise departs at 4pm and spends the entire 2nd day out at sea before arriving in Noumea on the 3rd day, at Lifou on the 4th day, and Myster Island on the 5th. Guests will spend the next two days out at sea to enjoy the ship’s activities before arriving back in Brisbane.

Onboard activities

Table Games – Carnival Cruise Line has various table games for all guests to enjoy. They even have fun variations like PokerPro tables and the unique Fun 21 to keep the games fresh.

Cloud 9 Spa – Travellers can escape to a world designed for relaxation with staff members trained in the craft of wellness. They can enjoy massages, facials, body wraps, thermal suites, and more. On certain ships, guests can also take a dip in the Hydrotherapy Pool.

SkyRide – Guests can enjoy a unique view of the ship and the ocean while pedaling around a two-lane suspended course in a pedal-powered go-mobile. It provides a great way to have fun, exercise, and take in breathtaking views.

WaterWorks – Carnival’s onboard waterpark, WaterWorks, provides a fun time with various water slides and pools to cool down for kids and kids at heart.

Serenity Adult-Only Retreat – Adults can unwind at the exclusive area meant just for them. It offers a serene place to accomplish things otherwise impossible in other areas, reconnecting with partners, or just enjoying doing absolutely, blissfully, nothing at all.
