Aman has announced a new island sanctuary in the Bahamas with its forthcoming property in Exuma with Amancaya, bringing the brand’s unparalleled service to one of the most exclusive destinations in the Caribbean.

Amancaya is set across two of the Exuma’s most secluded private cays, known for their white-sand beaches and world-class diving. Meaning ‘peaceful island’ in Taíno, the property comprises of a 36-pavilion Aman hotels and a limited collection of fully-serviced Aman Residences. Envisioned as a low-density ultra-luxury property in partnership with Swiss investor, philanthropist and sportswoman Dona Bertarelli, Amancaya brings Aman’s coveted lifestyle to Exuma with a host of resort amenities including a marina, Beach Club, Aman Spa and an array of dining venues across the two islands.

“The introduction of Aman into The Bahamas is a significant milestone for our brand, which has already achieved much success in the Caribbean,” Aman chairman and CEO Vlad Doronin said.

“As one of the most coveted locations in the destination, Aman guests have long requested our presence there. Through our collaboration with Dona Bertarelli, we have found an unrivalled setting for exclusivity and natural beauty, and I’m delighted to introduce the Aman lifestyle – from unparalleled service, privacy and transformative experiences – to The Bahamas.”

A global pioneer in the creation of peaceful sanctuaries far removed from daily life, Aman is revered as a provider of seclusion, wellbeing, exceptional design and peerless service, with a constellation of 35 hotels, resorts, branded residences and private clubs in over 20 destinations, 15 of which are within or close to UNESCO Heritage Sites.

“Aman is a purpose-driven company globally renowned for its timeless elegance and bespoke experiences. I’m delighted to have found a partner to thoughtfully bring this vision to life in an exceptional location,” Bertarelli added. “Guests of Amancaya will be able to enjoy the same sense of discovery and personal connection with the local community and culture that I have been able to experience in Exuma, all while immersed in its unmatched natural beauty.”

As part of its commitment to sustainability, Amancaya has set forth ambitious environmental goals, aligning with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and achieving LEED certification, a globally recognised standard for responsible design.

Amancaya is currently under construction, developed with the involvement of  Squircle Capital, and will be Aman’s third property in the Caribbean region. The brand currently operates Amanera in Rio San Juan, Dominican Republic, and Amanyara in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos.
