AmaWaterways is celebrating record engagement from Aussie and Kiwi travel advisors as its River of Rewards incentive enters its final week, with coveted places on the 2026 Mega Famil aboard AmaSofia still up for grabs.
With just days remaining, advisors are being urged to complete challenges and secure their chance to sail the Danube in August 2026.
The incentive has generated significantly higher participation than expected, reinforcing the strength of AmaWaterways’ partnerships across the region.
“We have been absolutely delighted with the response to River of Rewards,” AmaWaterways managing director AU/NZ Steve Richards said. “The level of engagement from our travel advisor partners has far surpassed what we anticipated. It’s a clear reflection of the passion and commitment within our trade community, and we’re incredibly grateful for their support.

“Our Mega Famil aboard AmaSofia in August 2026 is going to be something truly special. We’re excited to bring together a group of high-achieving advisors for an immersive Danube experience filled with incredible excursions, exceptional cuisine and the warm, personalised service that defines AmaWaterways. There are so many memorable moments to look forward to, and we can’t wait to share them.”
Advisor feedback throughout the campaign has been equally heartening, with many sharing how much they have enjoyed the structure of the incentive and the creativity of the challenges. Agents have highlighted that River of Rewards has created a genuine level playing field, giving everyone the opportunity to participate and succeed, whether they are seasoned river cruise sellers or newer to the category.
Backed by real investment in the trade
The Mega Famil is part of a broader and ongoing commitment to the Australian and New Zealand trade. Since opening its local office, AmaWaterways has welcomed more than 150 travel advisors onboard through a combination of hosted and self-famil experiences.
Most recently, Australian agents experienced the brand firsthand on two standout European sailings.
Hosted by Kylie Chapman, regional sales manager, on the Enchanting Rhine aboard AmaCerto, advisors sailed from Switzerland through France, Germany and the Netherlands, exploring the villages of Colmar and Strasbourg, enjoying wine tasting in R?desheim and soaking up the atmosphere of Cologne’s Christmas markets beside its iconic Gothic cathedral.
Others joined Head of Reservations, Ian Lyne, on Colours of Provence aboard AmaKristina on the Rhône River. Highlights included Lyon’s cathedral and bustling food markets, intimate small-group visits to the 2,000-year-old Pont du Gard near Avignon and exceptional onboard dining, including freshly made macarons crafted by the Head Chef.
“These experiences are about giving advisors complete confidence in our product,” Richards said. “When they see firsthand the quality of our ships, the variety of excursions and the calibre of our crew, they return home better equipped to inspire their clients. Supporting the trade is not a campaign for us. It is a long-term commitment.”
Final boarding call
With River of Rewards now in its final week, this is the last opportunity for advisors to climb the leaderboard and secure their place on the 2026 Mega Famil. The incentive closes 28 February.
AmaWaterways is encouraging all advisors to complete their remaining challenges and be part of what has already become one of the most engaging trade initiatives of the past year. Top bookers in February can also secure a stateroom.
