PTM's at their annual conference in Hawaii

In case you missed it from our last few articles, Travel Weekly is getting amongst it in Waikiki, Hawaii at the TravelManagers annual national conference.

This year’s team building activity was truly one of a kind, with Personal Travel Managers (PTMs) let loose on the streets of Waikiki in an Amazing Race-style challenge.

The aim of the game was to break up into groups of six to eight people and discover the sights, tourist attractions, hotels, shops and restaurants, ticking off challenges from a list as they went.

The challenge gave PTMs the opportunity to increase their knowledge of how easy it is to walk and catch public transport around Waikiki.

Each team was given $40 US for public transport or to be used on challenges, and a maximum of two hours to complete at least eight out of 12 challenges listed.

And the results were so great.

Most of the challenges revolved around small acts of kindness and adventurous little tasks designed to get PTMs out of their comfort zone, spread a little joy and have a damn good time while doing it.

The overarching theme of the conference is ‘success’, and we think this team building activity was a fantastic tool to help the PTMs realise that success isn’t always about reaching the finish line, it’s about enjoying the little things along the way.

Although, there was a cocktail party at the finish line…
